Seborrheic Dermatitis Scale

Skin cell migration on a scalp with seborrheic dermatitis, a more serious case of dandruff, is 7-21 days and cells shed as clumps of 100-1000 cells. Seborrheic dermatitis has the same etiology as dandruff but its severity usually necessitates medical treatment with a topical corticosteroid to control erythema.

Cortex - Responsible for physical and mechanical properties of the hair. Medulla - Not present in all hairs – may be throw-back to thermo-regulation.
