Peroxymonocarbonate Ion

The reactive oxidant species formed in oxidative hair colorants from hydrogen peroxide and ammonium carbonate. It is responsible for bleaching the existing hair color and forming the new wash-resistant color complexes. Peroxymonocarbonate has been shown to be a more efficient and selective oxidant compared to the commonly used hydrogen peroxide/ammonia systems.
